El Convenio internacional sobre el reglamento internacional para prevenir
los abordajes, 1972 ha sido aceptado por un gran numero de Estados desde
su adopcion el 20 de octubre de 1972 y entrada en vigor el 15 de julio de
1977. Fue enmendado en 1981, 1987, 1989 y 1993 mediante enmiendas
que ya han entrado en vigor. Se enmendo nuevamente mediante la resolucion A.910(22), aprobada el 29 de noviembre de 2001 y entro en
vigor el 29 de noviembre de 2003.
La presente publicacion incluye el texto refundido del Convenio de 1972
enmendado en 1981, 1987, 1989, 1993 y 2001.

The Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 has been accepted by many States since it was adopted in 1972 and entered into force in July 1977. It was amended in 1981, 1987, 1989, 1993 and 2001. This new publication contains the fully consolidated text of the 1972 Convention. It supersedes the 2002 consolidated edition,which contains the text that was in force before 29 November 2003 plus the 2001 amendments separately.
