The IMO/ILO Guidelines for Packing Cargo in Freight Containers or Vehicles that have been so widely used for many years by those who pack cargo for transport have now been superseded. The new publication, IMO/ILO/UN ECE Guidelines for Packing of Cargo Transport Units (CTUs), is based on the previous Guidelines (1994 edition) but has been revised so that it is applicable to transport by all surface and water modes and the whole intermodal transport chain. ILO and by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE).
